Barhia Special 2The Gourma, Festival of Essakane and cruise on the River Niger8 days from 5-12 January 2010 Barhia Travel Sévaré there will be a special circuit for Essakane Festival participants. We start from Mopti / Sévaré the morning of Tuesday, 5/01/2010 with 1-3 4x4 vehicles with 2-12 people. Passing by the Hand of Fatima, Hombori and Gourma (may be elephants) we will arrive towards evening at Timbuktu. The next morning we visit Timbuktu and then we go to the festival site (70 km of track). Essakane Festival opening is scheduled to 16.00 We wish you an enjoyable festival. After closing and a short sleep we take the track at about 8 o'clock to reach the pinasse ahead, and then you can digest the emotions of the festival. After a quiet night under the stars, two days full of discoveries: the immense Lake Debo, many birds, and even with a little luck some hippos. During the cruise you can also see all those activities in the Niger such as fishing and harvesting of rice. Several stops in villages along the river will give You the possibility to take a look at the daily life of villagers Fulani and Bozo.
